| Web 1.0 Internet marketing was all about driving people to your Web site. In the very early days, B.G. (Before Google), the Title field of the Web page determined rank, so sites would have “1 of the best” in the title field or “An Excellent Shopping Site”. As the Web grew in popularity, and spammers tried to take control of the search engines, it became increasingly more difficult to get traffic with only a Web page. Enter Web 2.0. People are no longer focused on Web sites. They use social networking, like Twitter and Facebook. They read articles on ezinearticles.com. They browse social bookmarking sites. They use specialty search engines. They are fond of places like Squidoo and Hub Pages to get information. Wow, they aren’t looking for you anymore, so you have to be where they are. On the one hand, it’s easier to get a top ranking on Google (and let’s face facts, this is the Big Kahuna for traffic), but, on the other hand, it takes a LOT more effort to get there. Would you like to figure it all out, or are you in a different business? If local search engine marketing ISN’T your main business, then we need to talk.
