Why Do You NEED Google Places?

- 40% of all Google Maps traffic is from mobile phones (Google, SXSW 2011). Mobile phone usage is growing exponentially.
- Google Maps has 150 million mobile users (Google, SXSW 2011). Google Maps is, of course, an integral part of Google places.

- 61% of online local searches result in an offline purchase (TMP/ comScore)
- 21% of US adults surveyed said they had used a search engine to research a shopping decision in the past 24 hours (Pew Internet and American Life survey September 2010)
- 80% of US adults under 35 consider the Internet their main source of information on local information; for the total population it is 70% (TMP Local Search Study)
- • 39% of search engine users surveyed indicated that they “routinely felt frustrated” by not being able to find a local business online (Webvisible-Nielsen, 2009)

- 52% of small business owners surveyed indicated that the phone book was not at all useful to them as a business owner. You’re not still advertising in the Yellow Pages, are you? Talk to us. We have MUCH more effective ways to get business.
Google does not want you to use the Yellow pages any longer. Whenever you want to find a product or a service, they want you to type your search into Google and they will show you local businesses that can meet your needs. This is why Google Places marketing is important for your business. It is a very powerful and inexpensive way to do Internet advertising, also known as Google SEO.
Google has created millions of Google Places accounts, and your business may already be there, but unclaimed. Every local business should have a Google Places account to insure that they get the greatest amount of local business possible.
Google always knows where you are when you are searching. If you do not use a city name when searching, Google will show you the Google Places entries for your local city
Shoppers typically call the top, or "A" listing first and then work their way down the list. The top listing on Google Places for a search gets a huge amount of calls, when compared to the others in the list. If you are not in the top 7, you may not get any calls at all. Google Places is just like the organic listings of Google; hardly anyone looks at page 2.
Here are some common questions and the answers about Google Places marketing:
Do I have to have a Web site to use Google Places?
No, a Web site is not necessary. However, you MUST enter a Web site address into your Google Places listing. We can take care of that problem for you.
Can I have more than 1 Google Places entry for a city?
Google Places accounts are allocated to a street address and phone number. You can create a Google Places entry for an additional locations for your business in your city that have a unique address and phone number.
Can I have more that 1 Google Places entry for my single location?
If you have a law practice with several lawyers, a real estate business with several salespeople, a dental practice or medical practice with several dentists or physicians, etc. it would be good to have each of those listed AND a listing for the business itself. It can be done, and we can do that for you.
Can I show up on Google Places somewhere other than just my city?
A single Google Places listing is designed to show up only in the city it is assigned to. It is often desirable to also show up in surrounding cities. We're the Google Places experts and can do that for you.
Do you guarantee a top 7 position on Google Places?
Yes, we do. There are certain limitations though. It does not happen overnight. It could take 3 to 4 months to get there. Work must continue to keep you there. In most cases, we had to knock somebody off the list to get you in the top 7. Others will be trying to knock you off the list. You must continually convince Google that you deserve that top listing. We take care of that for you.
We definitely do NOT guarantee a #1 position on Google Places. We will keep working on increasing your position in the top 7, but nobody can guarantee you the "A" position.
